Charleston Fashion Week® Model Search
Step 1: Models submit an online application by Friday, October 15, 2010.
Step 2: All models selected to participate in the casting call will be notified by Monday, October 18, 2010.
Casting calls will be held in Charleston, SC on two separate dates: Saturday, October 23, 2010, and Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Charleston Harbor Resort Marina, 20 Patriot’s Point Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464.
Out of town castings will take place in Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA. Charlotte casting will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Art Institute of Charlotte, 3 Lake Pointe Plaza, 2110 Water Ridge Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28217. Atlanta casting will take place on Saturday, November 20, 2010, location to be determined.
Step 3: Models selected from a casting call will be put into the 2011 CFW model book, which will be shared with all Runway Participants and Designers.
NOTE: Selection in the model book does not guarantee participation in a runway show presentation. Final runway selection is at the discretion of each Runway Participant/Designer.
Step 4: Mandatory model rehearsals will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Embassy Suites Charleston Historic District, 337 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401, and Monday, March 21, 2011 at the CFW tents in Marion Square, time to be announced at a later date. Models are required to attend one additional rehearsal, either Saturday, January 15, 2011 or Saturday, February 19, 2011, both held at the Embassy Suites Charleston Historic District, 337 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
Step 5: Each runway participant will review the CFW 2011 model book and select up to thirty (30) models for an in-store casting. Castings will take place the week of Monday, February 21, 2011 through Saturday, February 26, 2011. Specific casting date and time will be determined at the sole discretion of each Runway Participant.
If selected from the model book by one of the 2011 Emerging Designer semifinalists, casting call and fittings will take place on Friday January 7 and Sunday January 9th, 2011. Location to be announced at a later date. Specific casting date and time at sole discretion of CFW and Emerging Designer.
Step 6: Following the in-store castings, each Runway Participant will then narrow down their selection to no more than twenty (20) models to appear in their runway show presentation and two (2) alternate models.
Emerging Designers will narrow down their selection to twelve (12) models to appear in their runway show presentation and two (2) alternate models.
Step 7: Models selected by a Runway Participant are required to attend an in-store fitting(s) with that store. Fittings will take place on Monday, February 28, 2011 through Friday, March 11, 2011. Specific fitting date and time will be determined at the sole discretion of the Runway Participant.
Step 8: Charleston Fashion Week® will take place Tuesday, March 22, 2011 through Saturday, March 26, 2011. Models selected for a runway presentation must be in attendance for each show.
MODEL INCENTIVES
All models selected to participate in a 2011 CFW runway show will receive:
- Gift bag valued at more than $500.00 following the event.
- In addition, all participating runway models will receive recognition on the 2011 CFW website.

2011 Rock The Runway Competition Overview
Step 1: Models MUST meet all the criteria listed in the Model Search Overview Steps 1 through Step 6.
NOTE: Only models booked for a runway show will be eligible for the 2011 Rock the Runway Model Competition. This does not guarantee that you will advance as a semifinalist or finalist.
Step 2: Each Runway Participant will select their top three (3) female models and top one (1) male model from their in-store casting for entry into the CFW 2011 Rock the Runway Model Competition based upon appearance, poise, and runway walk during in-store castings.
Step 3: Models selected by a Runway Participant are required to attend an in-store fitting(s) with that store. Fittings will take place on Monday, February 28, 2011 through Friday, March 11, 2011. Specific fitting date and time will be determined at the sole discretion of the Runway Participant.
Step 4: The top models selected by Participants will then be narrowed down to thirty (30) semifinalists as determined by our Runway Panel of experts. Based on the performance of the semifinalists during the course of CFW rehearsals and fittings, the Runway Panel will select a group of ten (10) female and ten (10) male finalists to compete in the 2011 Rock the Runway Model Competition on Saturday 26, 2011 at the CFW Fashion Finale.
Step 6: Charleston Fashion Week® will take place Tuesday, March 22, 2011 through Saturday, March 26, 2011. Models selected for a runway presentation must be in attendance for each show.
Step 7: Male and Female Grand Prize Winners will be announced at the CFW Fashion Finale on the evening of Saturday, March 26, 2011.
PRIZE INFORMATION
Each Grand Prize Winner to receive:
- Fashion spread in Charleston magazine or other GulfStream publication*.
*Photo shoot timing and issue date to be determined and at the discretion of GulfStream Communications.
- $1000 cash prize.
- Additional prize information will be released at a later date.
